The result is a very fine, wet paste, which is then dried to produce the final Pishti powder.
Because Pishti is never subjected to high-temperature incineration, the chemical structure of the source material is altered less radically than in Bhasma preparation. The particle size of Pishti is fine, but typically not as fine as that achieved in a correctly prepared Bhasma. The absence of the puta cycle also means that Pishti preparation is generally faster and less resource-intensive than Bhasma preparation for the same source mineral.
